We are well into the first month of Quarter 2 and I have heard from many of our Biz Inspiration tribe members that you are struggling with keeping momentum moving forward AND staying caught up on all the tasks, to-do’s and things you have on the horizon.
Don’t let your mindset get you in a vicious cycle of feeling stuck and overwhelmed.
Take control and make Quarter 2 rock!
So how do I overcome overwhelm and get back on track?
1. Write down all the tasks that are circling around in your head. You can also put them onto Post it Notes on your wall. Write down EVERYTHING. Every task, no matter if it seems big or small.
2. Write down your goals for the next 90 days only! What do you want to accomplish this quarter? Wanting to finish a course? Launch a new service? Get your email newsletters set up? Blog consistently? It is time to get laser focused and look at the next 90 days only.
3. Now that you have written down your goals go back to the list you made (or post it notes) in step #1. Cross off (or move your post its) any tasks that do NOT move you forward towards your Quarter 2 goals. Those tasks that you want to do but aren’t going to help you move forward towards your goals right now? Leave them aside. You can pick them up later at any time! They may still have some great ideas but it’s time to get focused. To get clear. To only spend your time doing what you HAVE to.
4. Priorities! Now look at your tasks and decide what order you are going to do them in over the next 90 days. You may notice that you need to add some tasks to break down a larger project you may want to get done.
Now, HERE IS WHERE I SEE SO MANY BUSINESS OWNERS fail and I know you are NOT going to let that happen to you!
GET OUT YOUR FINANCIAL statements to date. Evaluate where you were at for Quarter 1 this year and compare it to Quarter 1 last year. Then look at your projections for Quarter 2. What do you need to do to make sure you meet those projections or surpass them? Now look at your cash flow spreadsheet (I know, I know, I hesitate to get mine out too but it will make a HUGE difference in your business!) and make sure you plug in all the expenses you know that you will have upcoming. Put in your sales targets and now you have a visual goal of what you need to be working towards. When we write something down it helps us be more accountable, right?!
I hope you have an amazing Quarter 2! I know you can ROCK IT!
What was your biggest WIN from Quarter 1? I would love to hear about it! Comment below and let’s share!
